A New Day for a New President
I have to say that I did not vote for Barack Obama. I was even a little upset when he won the election. I have come to terms that he is our new president as of today. I can only hope and pray that he will be guided by our Heavenly Father to make wise choices and decisions that will help our country and its people. I was very impressed by his speech. I feel that of this moment in time that he really will do his very best to fix the problems that exist and also the problems that we will face. I can only pray for him and choose to be positive instead of disappointed. So President Obama, I am putting my trust in you to help our United States of America and to remember to put your trust in God.

Thanks for that. I think this is a good attitude to take. I'm trying to withold judgement until I see some of the fruit of Obama's labors. At this point it's still just a bunch of promises to me, and that's nothing new for politics. But you're right; there's always prayer. I know that Heavenly Father is in control and trust that things will happen as they need to.
I have no doubt that Pres. Obama is a good man....I've always felt that about him - I have felt the Spirit comfirm those feelings. He will try to do his best, and although I disagree with some of his party's agendas, I have faith in his desire to do good and work hard. We'll all need to pray for him, and let's throw some prayers toward the strictly partisan (sp?) government officials as well. Maybe things could change if the people in office would change the way they govern - we all could try to be a little less judgemental and rigid, right?
Yeah, Mandy, right. Thanks for your thoughts, Deana. I agree that prayer is important in this case. We are taught to pray even for our enemies. (I'm not insinuating that he is.) Just that we can pray for all; and certainly for the success of our country. I'm not comfortable with the sitation, though. Hopefully in time...
